Candidates Forum October 18 – Waianae

Good Beginnings Alliance and Be My Voice Hawai’i will be hosting a candidates forum on early childhood on Thursday, October 18 from 7:00-8:30pm at TBD – Waianae (We have requested Waianae District Park’s multipurpose room). The schedule and format would be as follows:

7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
State Senate District 21 Candidates
Senator Maile Shimabukuro and Dickie Johnson

7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
State Representative District 43 Candidates
Representative Karen Awana and Glenn Butler

8:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
State Representative District 44 Candidates
Representative Jo Jordan and Creighton Pono Higa

Candidate Forum Format

· Each candidate will have 1 min. 30 sec opening remarks
· Moderator will ask 5 questions from the Early Education Community on topics related to education with an emphasis on early education.
· Time permitting, questions from the audience
· 2 min. response from each candidate for each question.
· Each candidate will have 1 min. at the end for final remarks.
